What do hippos have to do with Christmas anyway?
Well gang, the cookies have been baked, the bags
(and boxes... and tupperware containers...) are packed,
and it's almost time to head on home for the holidays.
I have a full day of work tomorrow, and then I have a
fun-filled 8 hour drive to Regina. This year my brother
is tagging along for the ride, so I will have to keep my
singing to a bare minimum I suppose. The last trip we took
back to Regina together, he smoked up 6 times!!! In 8 hours!!!
To say the least, my brother and I have always been
somewhat estranged. Good thing I borrowed those learn to
speak Czech cd's from the library. Maybe we can bond over
a new language! Ha ha!
I'm nervous about going home. I can't wait to see my family
though. Especially when yet again, it is decided that
Autumn does indeed buy the best Christmas presents. I'm
also looking forward to eating meals that do not in any
way contain zoodles. I think I went insanely overboard
with my Christmas baking this year. Last night I was up
until 4am baking!!! My new psychiatrist is right - I am
obsessive compulsive in my own funny little way.
Anyhoo... to those of you who read this regularly, you have no
idea how much all of your funny little comments mean to me!
Have a very merry Christmas and the happiest of holidays!
Love, Autumn

Well gang, one down, 3 more exams to go. And two essays. And a
partridge in a pear tree. I just about slept right through my exam
today, but made it just in time. Computer science. What a waste of
time. If I pass that course it will be a blooming, bloody miracle.
I seem to have lost my voice over the past 12 hours. It might have
something to do with playing NTN trivia for 4 hours in a smoky bar
this weekend. Ah well... I heard from my good friend Lisa
Lobsinger, who is currently in Frankfurt, Germany touring with
Broken Social Scene. I miss her terribly and wish she were here to
celebrate Christmas. But if I had the chance to tour Europe on
some record company's dime, I'd probably be in Germany too! One of
these days I'll have an adventure of my own...
Anyhoo... looking forward to Friday and being done yet another
semester of school. (And no more computer science class!) So if
any of you out there are itching to grab a rum toddy with me
before Christmas - give me a shout! By Friday I will need A LOT
of eggnog!!!

Ok, so I'm pretty bored, and I just finished
watching "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" which was actually
pretty boring for an action movie. And there
wasn't enough Adam Brody. Anyhoo... I've just
been sitting here googling names of people I knew
from high school, and low and behold, I too, am
only separated by two degrees from Brad Piit.
I dated a boy in the 10th grade who went on to
be Adam Brody's stunt double in an episode of "The
Sausage Factory". How funny. It truly is a small
world afterall. Now that I'm done with my group
project from Hell, I obviously need to find something
better to do with my time...!

I can't tell you how frustrating it is to spend every
free waking moment in the past two weeks working on a
group presentation on infanticide only to learn that
the group member who is responsible for the power point
slide show has created what resembles an anti-abortion
campaign that would make a survivor of the Rwandan genocide
feel queasy.
I don't work well with others!!! Why can't profs just
accept this?!

I just had the strangest feeling while driving
home from the airport. I was driving down Memorial
and though I was driving in the same direction as
everyone else, I felt sure that I was going the wrong
way. Interpretations, anyone?

Good things:
* My Mum has been visiting me this week.
She's a hoot.
* I found a pair of brown suede boots -
in my size!
* I only have one more week of school.
* My Christmas lights are up.
* Peter Ackroyd's biography of Shakespeare.
* It's snowing!
* My little weiner schnitzel is coming to live with me!
* I'm going to make Fet Kegels this weekend!
* I'm hosting book club this weekend and they will
get to eat the fet kegels!
* I'm getting my first ever NDP sign!
Bad things:
* The heat does not work in my apartment.
(I think my landlord is now trying to freeze
me out.)
* I have the most incompetent group ever for my
group presentation due on Tuesday.
* The girl who lives across the hall from me tried
to steal my car extension cord.
* I'm too busy to go snowboarding! Aaaaargh!
* I have a 4 hour psychiatric evaluation 4 days before
Christmas. (No, I'm not joking.)
* My fingers are frozen to the keyboard.
* My brother supports the Tories. (How on earth did this
happen?!)
* I cannot get "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" out
of my head. (Damn you, cute Telus commercials!)
But hey, on the plus side, the positives outweigh the
negatives this week! Hooray!

As most of you know, I don't go in for fashion
too often. But I find it absolutely ridiculous
that H&M does not have an online catalogue to
make purchases from. Especially now that Stella
McCartney has designed a really affordable line
of clothes for them. What century are we in?!
I have a splitting headache today.

I just don't know hwat to do with myself!
Hey all. I've been meaning to write lately but
other than my mental health woes, I simply don't
have that much to chat about! Life has become very
boring lately for some reason. Lots of average stuff,
but nothing really exciting. I put up my Christmas
lights and decorations - they look quite cheery.
I'm almost done my Christmas shopping - which is
good because then I will still have a wee bit of
money left over to be able to afford to drive home
on the 23rd of December. I saw
Harry Potter - which
I loved because the characters are all so gangly and
awkward and teenager-y. It made me giggle.
Oh wow. I just found out my best friend is pregnant
with twins. Aunti Autumn. Hee hee. Crazy. Everyone is
growing up so fast! Except for me. I still feel like
a wee little kid.
Today I am supposed to work on my group project for
school. Ugh. One of my project members is from PEI and
I can't understand a word she says. Hmmm...
oh yeah. To those book club members reading this - don't
forget to get your votes in to help me choose a book for
January! Your help is greatly appreciated! (I have a
decision making disorder currently.) Cheerio!
